It’s not a substitute for a home inspection, but it’s a great resource to give you a variety list of items and scenarios that may be important to you as a Buyer.

Another great resource is the Seller’s Property Disclosure Statement. This document will only apply if you are purchasing a resale home, but the seller should provide this document, indicating everything they know about the house. It’s the best way to know, “If these walls could talk, what would they say?”

Never underestimate the power of a professional home inspector! He or she will also be able to tell you more information about your future home. Usually there’s more than meets the eye. Termite inspections are necessary as well, as most lenders will require a clean termite report as a condition of getting your financing.
